Racqueteering

Racqueteering tennis services are provided by David Giannandrea, USRSA, USPTA, USTA. Originally Racqueteering was just a stringing service. Later in 2004 I started coaching, then in 2008 I created a summer tennis program in Tehachapi. Currently I'm conducting clinics, stringing racquets, giving private lessons and trying to improve the tennis climate in Tehachapi.

My vision is to have a tennis community. First the kids get interested, then their parents get interested. Tennis is the greatest sport ever invented. Although soccer may be the #1 sport in the world (note: football is a spectator sport), it doesn't compare with the longevity and social advantages of tennis. It is truly a lifetime sport, easy to enjoy wherever you travel and always a way to meet healthy wonderful people.

My mission is to develop tennis in Tehachapi through programs that will draw from town and the outlying communities of Golden Hills, Oak Knolls, Alpine Village, Stallion Springs and Bear Valley Springs. Tehachapi has a great environment for playing tennis. Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks Department (TVRPD) should recognize this and start planning some tennis courts. Currently, if you live in town, the only place to play is on school property which is certainly not convenient.

Someday Tehachapi will have a tennis center with 4 courts, lights, maybe a pro shop. If you've been to Bishop you should take time to see their courts and all the people playing tennis. We have a similar population plus the ability to draw players from Bakersfield on those days when they need cooler, cleaner air. Tennis is the only sport where players of all ages and sizes can play and compete together. Help me make it happen.

Network Tennis

Network Tennis is a tennis club for greater Tehachapi. We are at the HS courts each Saturday morning 9am-noon (8am in summer) until winter shuts us down. Read about it.
