Network Tennis Club
Network Tennis
Network Tennis is a tennis e-club created to serve the tennis players of Tehachapi. We play at the Tehachapi HS courts each Saturday morning 9am-noon (8am in summer) until winter shuts us down. The playing season is April to December. The goal is to get Tehachapi tennis players out onto our 'public' courts and have fun.
9:00AM Saturday @ Tehachapi High School (8am summer hours)
Tehachapi does not have a tennis club or a tennis facility. In order to bring Tehachapi out of the horse ages, this format was created so tennis players can gather. This is currently happening every Saturday morning at the HS tennis courts, except during the winter. This is not a formal club. It is merely a collection of names and email addresses that I use to inform the tennis players about schedules of play, tennis clinics and weather alerts.
The first hour is free warm-up drills or beginner lessons, depending on the daily needs. After that I'm typically engaged in clinics for kids and beginners. I've been very busy with 14 and unders, so if you're an adult sized beginner who needs help, you had better arrive early.
Join Us
Network tennis is a free, on-line tennis club. Send me an email, ask to be on the mailing list and you become a member. Unsubscribe whenever you want. I would also enjoy talking with you about your tennis and what you would like regarding tennis in Tehachapi.
I know most of the players in the area and enjoy bringing in new players to meet similar people. There are kids who love the clinics, adults enjoying recreational tennis, and an assortment of advanced players perfecting their strokes. I think I'm doing a great job as everybody keeps returning and having fun.
The Vision
We want to get a tennis center built here in Tehachapi. Four courts, lights and a club house would be a nice start. There are now enough of us to meet with Parks & Rec ( TVRPD ) and make progress in that direction. At the moment, they are totally unaware of any need for tennis courts or the existence of tennis players.
